Frequently Asked Questions

Most people have questions before starting counseling— that's okay! I've put together a list of some of things that you might be wondering yourself.
REquest an Appointment
How long is a typical appointment?
A typical session is 50 minutes. I try to stay as on time as possible to be polite to the next client.
Where are you located?
Our office is located at 4425 E U.S. Hwy 377 #116, Granbury, TX 76049— just as you're headed towards Fort Worth from Granbury.
What insurances do you accept?
We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and Aetna. If you have a different plan, I do offer a sliding scale fee for cash payments.
Is there any paperwork I need fill out?
Yes. It’s always best if you come to your first appointment with your paperwork already filled out and prepared so it does not eat into our session time. You can download the forms by clicking the yellow “New Client Forms” link at the top of any page. If you cannot bring the paperwork with you I will have it for you to fill out upon your arrival.
What hours do you see clients?
We see clients in the mornings, afternoon and the evenings to accommodate people with full-time jobs.
How do I pay?
I can bill your insurance, or you can pay by credit card, or cash is accepted at the beginning of your session.
How often do I need to come, and for how long?
Typically appointments are made weekly. This is on a case-by-case basis and we can schedule appointments however you feel comfortable. It is always best for treatment if we can meet on a consistent basis. Therapy sessions on average range from 6 to 8 sessions, sometimes this is limited to by how many sessions your insurance will allow. Some need more, some need less. It is a conversion that we will have on an individual basis.
What can I expect on my first appointment?
The first appointment will consist of the counselor getting to know the client. This usually consists of creating a genogram (a family tree), going over a brief family history and discussing any current issue(s) to work on. We will also create a list of goals to work on during your treatment. Please come to sessions prepared to work on a treatment issue. The more prepared and ready to discus your issue the more progress we can make.
Do you have appointment reminders?
Yes! If you’d like we can send you a text message the day of your appointment to remind you. Just let us know if you’d like this service. Your phone number is kept confidential and you will not be solicited with any other information.
Is therapy right for me?
Therapy or counseling is not just one thing. It can exist in many different forms. I will work with you personally to find a way to help you work through any problems that you may face. In order to make you feel comfortable you are welcome to call for a pre-appointment consultation to discuss any concerns. You can reach me at 940-902-2632 If I don’t answer I will call you back within 24 hours, please feel free to leave a message on my confidential voice mail.
